Nicaraguan granadilla. A climbing plant with cylindrical, glabrous stems and heart-shaped leaves, 8-16 cm long, and a petiole with 3-5 pairs of filiform glands.

Flowers on peduncles up to 5 cm long.

The sepals and petals are oblong, greenish, and 3-5 cm long. The corolla is made up of several series of filaments characterized by alternating transverse blue and white bands. This species is growing in the Topes de Collantes area, municipality.
